2025 Bulk Trash Pickup Dates

Saturday, May 17, 2025 will be the single day for bulk item pickup for residents within the City of Marshall. Items can be placed at the curb starting on May 10, 2025. 

How do I participate in the bulk trash pickup?

Residents can start placing items at the curb 7 days before the scheduled date of the pickup.  All items must be placed to the curb by the pickup date listed above. The pickup will start at 5:00am on the scheduled date throughout town so do not plan on placing anything out the day of the event. Trucks will pass each residence one time only.

Allowable Items

Maximum 3 cubic yard limit total (approximately a full standard truck bed)
  • Bagged solid waste under 50lbs per bag
  • Appliance NOT containing Freon
  • Dried Latex paint
  • Miscellaneous house materials (window, door, fence section or carpet). Must be 4' or less in length and  width.
  • Mattress, sofa, furniture, file cabinets
  • Home fixtures; toilets, cabinetry, sink
  • Cardboard
  • Outdoor toys
  • Scrap metal
  • Non-hazardous trash

Prohibited items

Items left at curb listed below will be left and will become the responsibility of the adjacent property owner
  • Appliances containing Freon (air conditioners, refrigerators, etc)
  • Yard Waste (leaves, sticks, shrubs, grass clippings)
  • Liquid or hazardous waste; motor oil and other mechanical liquids
  • Building demolition material; drywall, concrete, plaster, shingles
  • Oil based paint and varnish
  • Car batteries
  • Medical waste
  • Vehicle parts or tires
  • Fluorescent lighting fixtures and bulbs
  • Electronics including televisions

bulk trash pickup history

The City of Marshall contracts with Granger Waste Service to complete the bulk trash pickup. Starting in 2021, the City worked with Granger to implement a single day pickup event. This single day event reduces the cost of the pickup event and the time trash is sitting at the curb throughout town.
