MDOT Marshall Modernization Project Update

The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) has released its final newsletter for the winter season regarding the Marshall Modernization Project. This newsletter provides the most recent project updates and information for residents and businesses.

MDOT will pause newsletter distribution during the winter months, with regular project updates resuming in Spring 2026. The City will continue to share information as it becomes available and appreciates the community’s continued patience and cooperation throughout the project.

Leaf Pickup Update

Completion of the 2025 Leaf Pickup has been delayed this year due to heavy snow arriving earlier than usual and continued days of uncooperative weather. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this has caused residents.

The City Department of Public Works ( DPW) will continue leaf pickup until complete through January and February. Crews are able to work when there is limited snow coverage, little wind, and no heavy rain. We are working to reach all remaining areas as quickly as possible and the team will work overtime as needed. The ability to perform leaf pickup is analyzed daily based on weather conditions. The leaf pickup is priority for the department outside of Christmas decorations and tree pickup. As of 1/6/25, Christmas tree pickup is complete and Christmas decorations will come down the week of January 12th.

Please continue to check the Leaf Pickup Map as it will be updated every day progress is made on the leaf pickup operation.
