The Planning and Zoning Department ensures that community growth occurs in an orderly, managed fashion with an emphasis on quality and sustainability. The department is responsible for assuring that developments within the City conform to the City’s Master plan and Zoning Ordinance. Site plan reviews and subdivision regulations are administered by the Department. Other responsibilities include explaining, interpreting and providing input regarding the Zoning Code to property owners, developers and other interested parties and reviewing plans for buildings and improvements to existing buildings for zoning code compliance. The Planning Department also serves as the City’s liaison to the Planning Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals.
